Cold Winter Nights Comedy Series

The Numerica Performing Arts Center presents the second annual COLD WINTER NIGHTS COMEDY SERIES – three months of comedy starting January 2019. Each month will feature a stand-up comedy show on the Numerica PAC stage turned into an intimate, energetic “black box” experience. New to the comedy series are MONTHLY MOVIES ON THE BIG SCREEN, selected to fit the comedic theme every month for only $3 at ticket. Tickets are on sale now at the Numerica PAC.

JANUARY

The Monthly Movie on the Big Screen on January 10 at 6:30pm is WAYNE’S WORLD. This big screen spin-off of the “Saturday Night Live” skit follows Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) as they battle to save their public access show “Wayne’s World” from the world of commercial television. Rated PG-13.

The stand-up comedy headliner on January 19 at 7:00pm will be ANDREW SLEIGHTER. Sleighter has been seen on Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, Nuvo TV’s Stand Up & Deliver, and Conan. His comedy has the ability to reach wide ranges of audiences and works in a diversity of rooms.

FEBRUARY

The Monthly Movie on the Big Screen on February 6 at 6:30pm is THE BIG LEBOWSKI, sponsored by Ben McNair with Draggoo Financial Group. This 1998 crime-comedy film stars Jeff Bridges as Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, a LA slacker and avid bowler. After being assaulted as the result of mistaken identity, The Dude learns that a millionaire shares his name. The millionaire commissions The Dude to deliver a ransom for his kidnapped wife, but the plan goes awry when The Dude’s friend (John Goodman) has another plan in mind. Rated R.

The stand-up comedy headliner on February 9 at 7:00pm is KURT BRAUNOHLER. Braunohler has an album, a half-hour Comedy Central Special, and his first televised hour of comedy, Trust Me, on Comedy Central. He also appeared in Judd Apatow’s film The Big Sick, and was the on-set writer for the film. In addition to comedy and acting, Braunohler is a podcaster who has committed his career to inserting absurdity into strangers’ lives to make the world a better place.

MARCH

The Monthly Movie on the Big Screen on March 6 at 6:30pm is THIS IS SPINAL TAP, sponsored by Mark & Kelly Saint Hubbins. This 1984 American mockumentary follows the fictional British heavy metal band Spinal Tap as a documentary filmmaker follows the band on their US tour. Throughout the tour the band experiences show cancellations and rescheduled shows in smaller venues, and soon tensions rise the between the band and their manager.

The stand-up comedy headliner on March 2 at 7:00pm is KELSEY COOK. Cook made her late night debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in March 2018, as well as her Comedy Central debut on This Is Not Happening in April 2018. Her other television appearances include AXS TV, FOX, FUSE, and MTV. Cook spent three years touring in over 60 cities across the country with Jim Norton.

General admission tickets to each stand-up comedy show are $22, and reserved VIP Tables for 4 are available for $140. Tickets are limited. Series packages to all three stand-up shows are $60.Tickets to the Monthly Movies are each $3.
