Black Box Concert-In Partnership with TWO BAR PRODUCTIONS
The expansive Numerica PAC stage is turned into an intimate, energetic, black box concert experience – featuring Down North
Down North is a soul punk band based in Seattle. They have had their music featured on MTV’s Real World, and have performed at Bumbershoot and SXSW.
Raised on James Brown and Sam Cooke, Anthony Briscoe combines a style and emotional impact reminiscent of Prince in his vocal expressions and proudly steals the spotlight with his ballet-trained dancing while psychedelic-jazz guitarist Nick Quiller dominates the fretboard with a limitless imagination that explores the soundscape from high to low. Bassist Brandon Storms blends slap/pop bass lines with deep synth, and pitch bent solos that parallel guitar leads and Drummer Conrad Real glues together a foundation through impeccable groove and powerful chops, his finesse, intensity, and strength are evocative of Chris Coleman and John Blackwell.
Opener: Andon Hiltner
“I just want to leave this world knowing I helped to connect and to inspire, whilst getting funky along the way.” – Andon Hiltner
Having grown up in Hawaii, Andon is a true Island boy and man of many endeavors, yet in everything he does he is always led back to his music. Often identified as a reggae artist, Andon holds all genres dear to his mix of feels that he produces. With his long hair and eclectic taste, Andon brings a charismatic and sexy style to the stage. He feels like the ocean, and with his beckoning musical potion, and the sound of Aloha Fusion surging out of his skin at all times, he gets you in the mood and into your emotions.
Andon has been known for his lively, folky, funk-rock, soul and rhythm & blues styles during his performances on stage and also as a freelance artist. Performing with local and national acts, crossing over as an MC and presenter for events such as the Seattle Nightlife Awards.
Andon is labeled as a multi-instrumentalist, however, his passions for being a producer, engineer, singer-songwriter, arborist, semi-pro volleyball player, avid angler, surfer & teacher keep him busy. A connector, “just looking to spread love and the groove through music and community.”
Tickets to each show are general admission. VIP Tables include a reserved table for 4 closest to the stage.
